Erasmus+ is the largest and most successful European programme for education, training, youth, and sport. Its overall goal is to support educational, professional, and personal development through lifelong learning in the fields of education, training, youth, and sports in Europe and beyond, contributing to sustainable growth, quality jobs, and social cohesion, promoting innovation, and strengthening European identity and active citizenship.
The program’s budget for the period 2021 to 2027 is €28.4 billion, representing an increase of nearly 80% compared to the previous programming period.
Erasmus+ focuses on the following key areas:
- – Social inclusion and diversity;
- – Digitalization (Digital Erasmus+);
- – Ecology and environmental protection in line with the European Green Deal (Green Erasmus+);
- – Active citizenship
Eligible candidates and target groups under Erasmus+ are:
Learners and students; youth and youth workers; teachers, and others.
Organisations – vocational training and education centers, kindergartens, schools, universities, enterprises, NGOs, associations, unions, and others.
KEY ACTIONS
Erasmus+ provides funding in the following areas:
Key Action 1: Educational Mobility for Individuals – Projects for educational mobility promote transnational mobility for learning or training purposes for students and staff in the fields of school education, vocational education and training, adult education, higher education, and youth.
Key Action 2: Cooperation between Organizations and Institutions – Support for international cooperation, the development, transfer, and/or implementation of innovative practices and/or educational products at organizational, local, national, or European levels, as well as joint initiatives, exchange of experiences, and achieving common long-term goals.
Key Action 3: Support for Policy Development and Cooperation – Support for promoting innovation in education and youth policies, including activities under the “Jean Monnet” initiative, which foster European integration and awareness of European values through education.
